Accelerometers For Measurement Of Directional Acceleration Of ThrustSSC

ENDEVCO's unique variable capacitance MICROTRON® accelerometers are being used in the latest British World Land Speed Record attempt. These miniature, lightweight accelerometers will provide information on the lateral, longtitudinal and vertical forces acting on ThrustSSC during proving runs and the actual record attempt.

The MICROTRON® 7290A-10 is a +10g range, DC responding accelerometer, weighing only 10gm. It uses ENDEVCO's patented advanced silicon microsensor technology to provide a very rugged high sensitivity, high output accelerometer. This sensor design is so rugged that it has been selected for guidance applications where it must survive a 15,000g launch shock at the start of its flight mission.

Endevco is the world's leader in the design and manufacture of dynamic instrumentation for vibration, shock and pressure measurement. The product line includes piezoelectric and integral electronics piezoelectric accelerometers; silicon micromachined piezoresistive and servo accelerometers; high performance miniature pressure transducers; electronic signal conditioning amplifiers.

ENDEVCO's transducers are built for aerospace, automotive, aviation, defence, industrial, marine, and medical applications, where accurate and reliable data is vital. ENDEVCO provides solutions in critical applications such as the NASA Space Shuttle monitoring, automotive safety testing in-flight gas turbine vibration monitoring, missile fuzing systems, nuclear power plant monitoring, submarine silencing systems and activity monitoring in heart pacemakers.

Endevco are delighted to be associated with the ThrustSSC project.
