Supacat Fuel and Generator Pack for Thrust SSC

Supacat Cutaway

Introduction

The Supacat will be used as the tow vehicle for Thrust SSC. It will also be used a fuel and generator carrier. This arrangement means that while SSC is being towed it will be on external power from the generator carried by the Supacat. The fuel tank and electric pump combination provides a fully mobile refuelling pack for SSC.

Fuel Pack

The fuel pack consists of a 1000 litre tank (1870mm wide by 1445mm long by 370mm high) which sits on two (475mm wide by 1445mm long by 300mm high) lockers (see diagram below). Each locker contains an electric fuel pump, a length of fuel hose and a fuel nozzle.

Generator

The generator and battery pack have yet to be finalised thus a void (915mm wide by 900mm long by 670mm high) will be provided for the power pack. The void utilises the Supacat's storage well and the gap between the locker under the fuel tank (see diagram below).
